The Credential

The Pilgrim’s Credential is your passport along the Way. Find out how to get yours here.

To embark on the Way of Saint Anthony on foot or by bicycle in the true Christian spirit, every pilgrim should commit to respecting its meaning and essence. The Credential serves to authenticate the pilgrimage, confirm the pilgrim’s identity and intentions. Stamps from visited locations must be affixed to it as proof of the journey.
The credential is issued free of charge to pilgrims by the Friars Minor of the Sanctuary of Saint Anthony in Gemona del Friuli and by the Conventual Franciscan Friars of the Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua.

The credential issued by the Basilica of Saint Anthony is valid along all sections of the Way, and it can be requested and received directly at home (ONLINE REQUEST).

Each credential has a unique identification number and is one of a kind. The credential does not grant any rights, but it allows access to affiliated accommodation facilities, according to terms and conditions that must be accepted and respected.

A journey marked by the heart

Along the route, you can collect stamps at hospitality sites, sanctuaries, churches, and affiliated facilities. Each stamp tells a part of your story: it is a testimony of the journey you have made, the places you have passed through, and the encounters you have experienced.

Stamps are available at: churches and sanctuaries along the Way, pilgrim accommodation facilities, tourist offices and information points, and some businesses participating in the initiative.

To make your pilgrimage even more meaningful, we encourage you to request a stamp in every location where you stop, creating a visual diary of your experience.

Each stamp on the Credential marks a stage of your story, a sign that will remain over time as a memory of your pilgrimage.
Collecting them means preserving the emotions and the steps taken, making the Way of Saint Anthony an even more authentic and profound experience.
