Signposting of the
Saint Anthony Way
A stylized “acorn” cross, overlaid on a lily, forms the official logo of the Way. This cross, with three natural acorns at the ends of each arm, refers to the ancient coat of arms of Saint Anthony’s family, the noble House of Buglione.
The Twelve Acorns
Fernando’s father dreamed of a future of knighthood, glory, and honor for his son. However, young Anthony’s choice to follow God transformed this cross from a symbol of war into a sign of peace and love. The twelve acorns, once a bold and noble heraldic image, came to represent strong, powerful, and holy spiritual nourishment—offered through the sacrifice of Christ and the Church founded upon the Apostles.
Superimposed on the cross, the lily is an equally significant element. It represents Saint Anthony’s purity and his fight against evil. This flower is traditionally associated with many saints and is already referenced in the Gospels.

Along the route connecting Gemona to Padua, the signposting is easily recognizable. For pedestrians, the yellow arrow on a brown background marks the path, while for cyclists, the brown arrow on a yellow background indicates the cycling route.

On the section from Padua to Gemona, the signs are reversed: for pedestrians, the yellow arrow on a light blue background guides the way, while for cyclists, the light blue arrow on a yellow background shows the route.

Additionally, the official logo of the Saint Anthony Way accompanies the signage, providing an extra reassurance for pilgrims, confirming they are on the right path. This clear signposting makes orientation along the way easy and safe, both on foot and by bike.
